About the Doctor
Dr. Johnny Chun, BSc, DMD
Dr. Johnny Chun was born and raised in Edmonton, where he completed his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alberta. He then ventured to Boston to receive his dental degree from the prestigious Boston University School of Dental Medicine in 2006, where he graduated high honours magna cum laude, and also received the award for Operative Dentistry in recognition of his exceptional performance in the art and science of Operative Dentistry.
Upon graduation, Dr. Chun practiced general family dentistry in both Edmonton and Vancouver, before deciding to move back to Alberta and making Calgary his new home with his wife, Juliet, and two sons.
Dr. Chun enjoys helping people of all ages and from all walks of life. He enjoys working with children and has a very patient and gentle manner that both child and parents appreciate. Dr. Chun always strives to do all treatment himself at our office, be it root canals, wisdom teeth extractions, dentures, crown and bridges and children’s dentistry. Of course there are some situations where he will work together with a specialist to make sure the patient receives the best care possible.
Dr. Chun’s practice philosophy is to provide comprehensive, conservative and compassionate patient care in a comfortable environment. He believes that education and prevention is the key to oral health. Patients will understand that he is looking out for their best interests and that they will receive excellent, quality care they can trust.
Dr. Chun and his staff are always taking courses and seminars to stay updated with the most current knowledge and techniques in dentistry. He is a member of the Alberta Dental Association and College, Canadian Dental Association and American Dental Association. Dr. Chun is graduate of the reputable Misch International Implant Institute, and is a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologist.
